Description

Typical put-in is Black Rock Campground, but you can put in anywhere between there and north to Barber Flat, wherever looks good.

This is a fun, pretty run that gets underutilized. Most of it is in a roadless area, the water is cold and clear, and the rapids are a blast.

The shuttle isn't as bad as it sounds, but I don't recommend taking the Honda. A Subaru and some good sense will get you through.

So get a group together and make a day of it.You'll be glad you tried something other than Staircase again.

I've run it as low as 700 cfs and as high as 1500. It doesn't change character much, but packs more of a punch and is more fun at higher water.
